That One Time I Applied to Work at Zen Planner

At some point last year, I found out that Zen Planner was hiring... and although I loved my job and what I was doing, I was inspired to apply for the job...  just see what would happen!

Now, since enough time has passed and I no longer want the job (I'm doubling down at my current position), I thought it would be cool to post the actual cover letter that I sent them.

Review on My Zen Planner's Integrated Website

If you didn't read about why we switched to an Integrated Website with Zen Planner, you can read that article.  This article however will be going over what it was actually like to hire them and work with them.

I am a self-professed Zen Planner fanboy, so I had very high expectations going into this process.  To sum up my experience in one sentence, I'd say that it was more work than I had anticipated on my part to get it the way that I wanted, but very worth it in the end to switch.

If you don't care about this yet, you're missing out on some of the cool features in Zen Planner (the Faceboard, the Zen Planner Staff App, etc) - none of which are any fun when you don't have photos. And, by the the time you recognize the need for them, you may be too far behind to catch up.

It might seem complex at first glance, but the steps below are actually pretty simple and will take about 15-20 minutes to set up.  After the initial setup, you'll want to spend 5 minutes every so often to clean up your database to ensure that everyone has a photo.  Are you with me?
